Leonardo da Vinci is a European Community programme, which aims to promote new practical approaches in vocational training policies. The programme is now in its second phase for the period 2000 to 2006. The programme emphasises the need for quality, innovation and a European dimension of vocational training systems and practices, through transnational cooperation.
The agreement for Malta’s participation in the Community Programme Leonardo da Vinci came into effect on the 29th September, 2000. It has provided ample opportunities for Maltese students, workers and trainers to enrich, extend and update their skills and expertise in vocational training. This features well with the Ministry of Education’s commitment to reform and upgrade vocational training provision in Malta.

Dear Friends,
The obvious enthusiasm and excitement of all who have been involved in this project has resulted in a commitment to develop a truly effective tool. The project was created to help students and workers in the medical profession with the English used in real life situations. These every-day conversations are the building blocks for this new tool making it useful for both educators and individual users.
A free on-line forum which aids communication between the users of the site has been set up at www.englishforums.com and access to on-line tutors on the ‘englishmed' site may follow later.
